Homesick

Hey all, as some of you will know, the last 2 weeks have been very emotionally-charged for my family and me, as my gran had a fall on Sunday, resulting over the week in her being in hospital. The docs don't give her more than a couple of days, but she's gonna be in Heaven soon, so I've got peace about it.

Above all things, this has been an amazing time for me drawing close to, and relying upon God. He has consistently sustained and looked after us for the last 3 weeks, and I know he will continue to.

'Homesick' is the name of a song that is very close to my heart now, and will become moreso when God finally embraces my gran in his heavenly arms soon...

Homesick
by Mercy Me

You're in a better place, I've heard a thousand times
And at least a thousand times I've rejoiced for you
But the reason why I'm broken, the reason why I cry
Is how long must I wait to be with you

I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
I've never been more homesick than now

Help me Lord cause I don't understand your ways
The reason why I wonder if I'll ever know
But, even if you showed me, the hurt would be the same
Cause I'm still here so far away from home

I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
I've never been more homesick than now

In Christ, there are no goodbye
And in Christ, there is no end
So I'll hold onto Jesus with all that I have
To see you again
To see you again

And I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow

Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
I've never felt more homesick than now

These concluding lines are a constant reminder to me that God is the only one we can turn to for strength - in times when we're on top of the world, and most noticeably when we're at rock bottom. But, PRAISE be to our Father God, that he is ALWAYS FAITHFUL to answer our prayers. Peace is his to give, and he has given it - just look at jesus :)
